A BAD DESIGN????
Hi, I blew a trans line today sitting in front of the house, boy does that make a mess!!!!! It seems that ford puts a metal bracket on the tranny lines to keep them from rattling but they never used anything to stop the metal on metal wear they bolt a solid bracket directly to the engine in the front and the metal lines go through the bracket so the vibration from the engine is transmitted through to the lines the bracket actually cut my tranny line in half!!!!! for about 3 days I saw a spot of oil under the truck and was waiting for a little more than 20 degrees to crawl under so today I was going to go get oil and filter started it up went back inside to let it warm up and when I came back out......OH MY GOD was it a mess. so anybody who has a diesel with a c6 auto better check your bracket it is right in front of the fuel pump. I'll have to check mine out John, thanks for the info. I will be putting back brakes on mine tommorow anyway so I'll be working on it. We use rubber cushioned clamps in the military on planes to keep that from happening. I might look into finding some of them. Surely NAPA sells those, I think. Take care.
