Front Swaybar Broken Weld

Has anyone else had the weld break on the front swaybar where it attaches to the axle on the passenger side. I noticed a noise in my front and took it to the local Ford dealer and they found that the weld broke where it attaches to the frame and want to replace the whole front axle. They would not warranty it out, since it is a 2000 with 90,000 miles on it. Any advise?

No... never heard of this one...
but it is out of warranty by a bit - like 50,000 miles or so...
but if you're real nice, maybe they will meet you in the middle ?

I was able to have them reweld it. Cost came to $53.00 total, I hope it holds out. Thanks!

Hey I had this exact thing happen to me.Every where I checked no welders in yellow pages were willing to do it based on the liability issue. So I had a friend who had a wire feed welder and he offered to do it for me.It turned out fine and is still holding strong.Funny thing though I looked under an 04 ex and found that the sway bar support had been redesigned and beefed up..............wonder why?
