Hard start.
if I stop for ten minutes or so , it takes longer to start than usual .It's turning over fine but takes a pump or two on the gas to fire up .If I stop the truck for a minute or two after it 's warmed up , it fires as soon as I turn the key. It's a 1971 360 auto , 2v carb. It occurred to me that since hot coolant circulates under the carb thru the spacer, Could it be overheating the fuel in the carb bowl after it sits awhile and causing a hard start ? I have thought of making a spacer with no coolant passage and going to an electric choke . Anybody else have a problem with hard start caused by the hot spacer under their factory two barrel?
