M5od?

My gear shift wants to pull to the right while accelerating in first gear. The truck shifts fine into all gears. It feels like the whole transmission is trying to turn clockwise but only in first gear. The motor mounts look O.K. but I am no expert. This just started yesterday after I had to accelerate hard in first gear. '92 F150 4.9L M5OD w/130,000 plus miles.

Thanks

Well the motor torques up to that side so it would. Check the tranny mount also.

You've broken the driver's side motor mount, not uncommon. Once you actually remove it, then you will see that's it broken. Beware the "made in India" ones sold at many chain parts stores. They might last you a couple of months. Maybe. I went through 4 in less than a year (guaranteed and a free swap) and finally got tired of changing them and bought a new one from Ford. I drove many a mile with broken ones. You generally only get "shifter flop" taking off in first gear or when pulling a hill. You'd sure want it replaced before you consider towing anything or doing any heavy hauling.

Thanks GypsyR for the input. Not sure I can tackle a motor mount on my own. Gonna do another post to see if someone can give me some direction. I will stay away from the made in India's. I guess the Ford House is the best place to go for the motor mounts.
