I found a fuel leak on the valley under the fuel filter of my '96 F350 PSD. I figured it was an old hose or the "O" rings on the water separator. Coincidentally, the water pump started to leak as I was preparing to attack the fuel leak. I have replaced the water pump satisfactorily. I also replaced the fuel hoses, separator & fuel pressure reg. o ring, cleaned filter cannister & fuel pressure reg. I reasembled everything back together the truck wont start. Everything is plugged as it should be. I think that I have bled the fuel lines adequately. It cranks fine, The tach rises just a bit during the crank and all fuses appear Ok....so, based on what I've been reading here, Ive also replaced batteries, Glow Plug relay and the CaMP sensor...still will not start. I dont know where to go from here & need HELP!
I did some more work on the truck & (I know it's bad :{ ( did the old ether trick) any way, with the ether it wanted to start but could not sustain running without the fuel. so....somewhere I am not getting fuel to the injectors.....help!
When you used the ether did you by any chance look at the oil pressure gauge to see if you had oil pressure. My 94 would start and run just a bit with the starting fluid but then die so I looked at the gauge and saw no pressure. Took to dealer and they had to replace high pressure oil pump.
it could be alot of things fuel pump, wiring harnesses, injectors, or just some stupid sensor. if you know anyone with a superchip microtuner ask them if you can borrow it and do a diagnostic test on your truck and see what codes come up
