Chrome Front Axle - What year(s)??
Hey guys!
I just picked up an entire front end assembly for a F-1/early F-100 series truck. I actually bought the package for the front drum assemblies to put on my 1931 Ford pick-up. Ordinarily, I would probably junk the rest of the parts but these are all show chrome and in pretty decent shape! I have an axle, the steering arms and the spindles...all nicely plated.
So here's my question: What year range where these front axles used? 1948-195?. Where they pretty standard through the years? I know that the brakes were...they practically bolt right on to the early Ford spindles and sure work a LOT better than the old mechanical models.
I'll probably drop the whole package on eBay in the future. I am sure that there is some hot rod traditionalist that would love to have these parts on his/her ride...even if they don't stop or handle as well as that modern IFS stuff.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
