I Have A 97 Explorer The Code P140 I Want To Know If I Understand This Right Or Were Do I Go To Get The Info I Need If I Read It I Understand Bank 1 To Be Passenger Side Low Catalyst Flow Downstream To Be Right Side Back Oxygen Sensor Needs Replaced
Is This Correct Thanks For The Help Smoken79
Don't know about the code number, but, bank 1 downstream is the furthest from engine on passenger side exhaust. AutoZone was very helpful (along with the people on this site) in helping me change mine.
Good luck!
FR8's correct, and luckily that's the easiest one to reach. It should be the one after the catalytic converter.
Code P0140 is "O2 sensor circuit, no activity detected - Bank 1 Sensor 2".
This code can be caused by a bad O2 sensor, or a break in the wiring. Since the wiring for this sensor travels directly over the cat, it tends to get burned. Check the wiring before buying a new O2 sensor.
