There are lots of commercial fish foods out there. A pond Supply store would probably have what you need.
You could use jsut scraps from around the house, but I would be careful of putting too much in, until you are sure the fish are eating it and it isn't polluting the water which would kill the fish. I doubt bubble gum is good for fish, makes them float if they have gas.
We have a minnow in our aquarium, it was left over bait, it ate regular fish food, then we started feeding it frozen shrimp from the pet store, it just loves that stuff. Comes frozen, brown color, stinks, just break off little pieces and drop into tank.
Hey is'nt that a 24" pickerel (Walleye to you Yank's)
i do not think that is quite right a "chain pickerel" or a "redfin pickerel" are close relatives to northern pike, not walleye, which are relatives to sauger, saugeye, and pearch.
we in the north just call walleyes-- "pickerels" they look the same as saugers with the yellow/golden belly( but I do agree with you, they belong to the perch family). I've unfortunately, had not the chance to catch or see a chain pickerel and have never heard of a red fin (but would love to catch one). My fishing is limited to central and northern Ontario.
Feed them dried and crushed worms, stale bread, etc.. just be carefull as to the amount they get, they don't need much. Dried and crushed worms are the best.
