Unhappy dropped tool,help!!

I dropped a 4inch long 1/4 inch extension down the crevice between the valve cover and intake manifold (drivers side)on my 97 4.6 truck. Is there anything down in that valley that it could screw up?At first thought I figure if water or dirt can get there the tool won`t do any harm,am I right? Thanks for any response.

Probably won't hurt anything, but have you tried mechanical fingers or an extendable magnet to get it back?

It may rattle a bit and drive you crazy. A flexible extenda magnet should get it.
If all else fails, turn the truck upside down and shake it real good

Just turn it on it's side... so you can keep the hood open.

Have you tried cussing at it? I find a lot of things can be solved by using a lot of colorful expletives.

How about banging your fist on something? That helps with certain tasks that can't be solved with the swearing.
