Just a long shot. O2 sensor, since it starts to run bad after it warms up and goes closed loop. This might show up when you pull the codes.
Try fresh gas.
Could the air filter be plugged, since it sat so long? That would make it run rich, maybe.
If you decide coolant is getting into the cylinders and you're desparate to drive it soon, you could throw some Bar's Leak in the radiator, might keep it going for a while...

ok well the cylinder order is not of great concern here...what is wrong with my truck is though.

Not tryin to sound abrasive or like act like a butt.....but I have now come into a completely tight schedule....and while I understand that it is the weekend, and a friday night, most people will not be on....but I need to get some suggestions on where to start tomorrow and sunday, as I only have a short time frame to get this thing working, and I cant work on it 100% of my off time as I also need to work with a co-workers schedule, who is not single such as myself.

And I know it is not like a chebbie, I thought that the fords where labeled front to back, but could not recall, so we jsut went with what we had written down to keep track of things in a somewhat organized manner

Thanks

Just so you didn't wire it up the way you had it listed.

What do you mean by the psi dropped, did it drop slightly or completely?

Sucks when your in a hurry huh?

Not much we can suggest over the internet with the info given, other than your cylinder psi looks good, but you have a possible leak somewhere depending on your definition of "psi dropped".

I might initially think you do not have a coolant leak by your definiton of the plugs all being covered in soot, as when coolant is burnt in the cylinder, that cylinder is usually extremely clean, not to say there isn't a leak but that is just an initial thought.

Get the codes and you will know a little more about whats wrong.

Could be cylinders 2 and 4 according to your numbering, are letting a lot of blowby past the cylinder giving you a poor running engine and that 2 stroke smell.

Have you checked the oil yet?

Again good luck

From: Destin/Ft. Walton Beach,
Jimmy, I would try that compression check again, while warm. See if the results are any different. Five or ten pounds difference certainly isn't a perfect engine, but it's not very bad either. Do you know anybody who has a leakdown gauge? Apply air pressure to each cylinder, and the leakdown gauge will tell you how quickly the air goes past your rings, or through a crack or blown gasket. This would also blow bubbles up through your radiator, or even hear air escaping through your intake. Then you could say for sure, yes or no on what I thought the problem may be. It couldn't hurt to try C96's suggestion with the Bars Leak either, just to see if it helps. To tell you the truth though, I'm starting to think that maybe I'm wrong about the coolant "burning. It seems as though the plugs in cylinders that have water getting in, would be clean, or even show moisture on them. After tearing down engines with blown head gaskets or cracked heads, the top of the pistons in the affected cylinders usually look like brand new, while the other piston tops have the usual carbon deposits on them. I'm curious to hear what you found when you check the codes.

I may be wrong but since it blows really bad after warming up, the thermostat has kicked open and your water jacket(cooling system) has become pressurized blowing coolant into the pistons through a blown head gasket.

OK, pulled hte upper intake, t he back intake port is the only one that does not have a ton of black carbon/soot inside the upper and lower intakes. only thing we saw today with. Passenger valve cover is also off, nothing out of the ordinary, but I have not been able to inspect the valve stem seals yet, so I may swap those out, I have them, but am short on time.....

BTW.....the radiator is almost COMPLETELY bone dry for coolant, and there is no water in the oil. we pulled the radiator hoses, nothign dust all we got, along with the heater line. I am going to pull the lower radiator hose to see if there is anyhting in there, and to see if there is any oil in it.

Thanks guys.
