I have a 99 F-350 psd with a A/C problem. Teh R-134a is good. Supply air at 40. Problem is after running at freeway speed it quits. the warmer it is the longer it takes to restart. Have bypassed the High pressure switch..no change, the clutch cycle switch,,no change except freezing up the evap(expected). In the mornings it works perfectly. about 90 ambient temp it can cycle off for an hour. Is there a circuit breaker tht is tripping on thermal? The R-134a pressures look good at all engine speeds(truck not moving) Help it hotter n hadies here in tejas. thanks

It's a mystery for sure. When it is running all the pressures and temps are on the money. when it fails you can bypass the clutch cycle and high pressure switches and it will not run. After the truck cools down or the temp outside drops, it will run great. really a puzzle, jus' wondering if there was a circuit breaker that gets hot and dosen't reset 'cause it is too warm. thanks.

we're thinkin on the same lines. Dallas lost power to 300,000 folks last night and my day ws spent restarting building automation systems and Air conditioning system for my clients. During breaks(waiting for the pole and lantern guys to get juice on(some people think teh P&L stand for Power and Light...unuh)) I started pulling relays out of the relay center. Have no idea what does what. Now know three of 'em cause the engine to shut down. Thanks for helping guys. Was a warm then cool then warm then cool ride through rush hour tonight. K
