SCMT from ebay....
Well today I got mt SCMT in the mail which I bought from ebay. I plug it in and to my surprise it gave me an error message. I guess the previous owner never returned their truck to stock. I call superchips and they said they cant do anything for me. I justn hope the seller will cooperate.

I thought the SCMT was vin locked to the original vehicle it was first used on, and can't be used after the intitial startup on other vehicles except for pulling codes. That's what the instructions for mine stated when I got it last week. Here's to hoping that you get it working or at least get your money back.

If I am not mistaken they are VIN locked as long as the aftermarket program is in the original truck. Once the original truck is returned to stock you can install one of the aftermarket programs on another truck but you cannot have more than one truck with a modified program at any given time. It will work as a code reader on multiple trucks with no problem.

Yep - Dave is right - 'cause I let my Dad use my tuner on his truck one time. As long as the first truck is put back to stock - then it can be used to tune a different truck - but not 2 at once. They easily could have made it work on 2 or more trucks - but they aren't dummies - they want everyone to have to pay for one!!

Problem is the truck with the tuned program I need is in Cali somewhere. The person I bought it from said they sold the truck and that is why they were selling the SCMT. Someone on the "other site" said that SCMT will reprogram it for 125 if the dealership reflashes your computer. I will call them tomorrow and see if I can work something out with them.
