I'm finding out as I restore my 79 F250 that lots of parts for out trucks are discontinued by Ford, or outrageously overpriced. I've had to start considering trolling scrap yards as productive time. Have found everything, in reasonable shape, except rear drum backing plates - so far.
Best approach I've found with the wreckers is not "do you have X for a 197y F250", but "do you have a 1973 to 1979 F250 in your yard?"
