97 Ford no go!

I have a friend w/ a 97 Ford f-250 diesel. It has a total lack of power. the engine runs fine and the transmission is in good shape. the ford garage can't figure it out because the computer says there isn't anytning wrong with it?? the truck is off warranty so he would like to know what to fix before spending a bijillion dollars on it. oh there is only 42000 miles and it is an automatic transmission. OH it has been going through fuses lately too?? any help would be greatly appreciated

The truck is warrented for 5years/100,000 miles. I would get the cam position sensor replaced first. Sometimes the sensor is just starting to go bad and will not show up on the computer.

Also, I have heard of the wires that run in the valve cover gasket will go bad and not cause it to show a code on the computer.

Check the obvious. Fuel filter, air filter, fuel pump and fuel pressure.

Before you do anything, is it really a friend???? Or is it just you not wanting to admit it. lol, sorry it was just too easy. i would check the cam and the obvious so good luck,
