Gauges
Have looked at serveral after market tach gauges but unable to find any that appear any where close to original. Swapped instrument cluster in 65, has round speedo w/ the 2 smaller alt. and oil gauges, believe 2 1/4" dia. Considering relying on the charge indicator light in the speedo cluster and replace the smaller alt. gauge w/ tach gauge. Don't want an instrument just setting there, might as well but an instrument to use. Having hard time figuring out the alt. circuit any way, and understand the circuit can pose problems.
Any member found a replace'mt tach gauge that sets inside smaller alt. gauge housing. Like to stick with original type tach, or as close to original as possible. Thought i had seen a tach gauge in the cluster before, not sure where. If not, has anyone found a tach gauge out of passenger vehicle that will fit in the smaller housing.
Also, acquired 2 or 3 extra speedo cables and other than holler at vehcile next to me about mph, is there a way of determining one cable gear from another.
