Question What is this?
What is the gold colored "tin can" in the middle of the following picture? Is it always found on a 1984 Ford with a 460 or would it be part of the aftermarket holley fuel injection system? I am trying to go back to carbureted engine, can I just leave it off? I cannot leave it where it is because I just installed a mechanical fuel pump where it was located.

It's just a regular aftermarket inline fuel filter.

Yep, fuel filter.

Looks like one for the fuel injected Fords.
