so i was flipping through my jc whitney the other day and noticed that the 78'79 bronco's had two options for rear springs oe replacement. one was the hd 2500~lbs spring same as 73-79 truck springs and the other was 1650lbs..........................hmmmmmmm
what i'm planning for my rear suspension is the shackle flip. now i'm not going to tow or haul anything with my truck........except maybe a group of honey's that want a ride.............and maybe a couple coolers of beer but that's it. what i really want is a nice smooth ride and a fair amount of flex, so i don't have to throttle everything. so would the bronco spring be too light and wrap on me or has anybody tried this?
the lighter springs would offer more flex and better ride but anytime you hammer down on it it will twist up a lil. i would fab up a set of ladder bars that flexed with the springs. you would be surprised though at how soft the shackle flip softens up the ride esp if you angle the shackles right!
very good point. if you do a traction bar look into a single bar with a shackel attaching it at the axel give me a bit and ill see if i can find a pic i saw floating around......... or just figure out how to put 63" chevys under it so i have it easy
