I've got a tape player in my '96 ranger. I need CD in the worst way. However, I'd like my dash to remain stock. Looking at my options, I've come up with a few questions: 1. What brand is the stock stereo? and can I use an aftermarket cd changer? 2. There are a few different brands of ford stock cd changers on ebay (clarion and alpine) which one will work with my current deck? (i do have a cd control button) 3. am I restricted to the 94-96 model years for stock decks? I've noticed a lot of 98-02 stereos on ebay.
You don't need to stay stock with a changer. If you're going to hide the changer, you can get one that has an FM modulator. That way your dash stays stock, and you just tune your radio to an FM station like 88.5 to listen to the CD Changer.
