converting 3 speed to c6, was told I would need a flex plate spacer, engine is 302. also was told just bolt flex plate to engine. have no clue.

 

just need flywheel (flexplate) and bolt up.

yes, generally they are used for cases when an adapter plate or mid plate are used. Also, sometimes you can get a balance plate for use on motors needing external balance with a flexplate or manual flywheel that is not. They may have been referring to the washer plate that is sometimes used behind the flexplate, but not between the flexplate and crank.
