I have a 99 F250 LD. I replaced the wiper blades only to find that the geometry of the windshield/wipers is such that if you don't have the 'right' blades the passenger side does not hold tight to the windshield at the bottom of the stroke and even sometimes flaps in the wind. I have tried several brands and even smaller sizes but cannot find one will conform to the contour of the window. I was not happy with the factory blade performance and would prefer not to have to buy new Ford blade$$$$. Anyone?
I know, I don't usually go there, but got stuck in a downpour in my Windstar and got tired of my 2 month old crappy, streaking Bosch blades, and they were next to where I was going, so I stopped in there and they had the Trico factory replacements, so I got them. No more streaks!!!
I was pretty confident that it was not the wiper arm but, in thinking about it, there was an incident which could have completely tweaked that arm. I'll have to take a fresh look at it tomorrow.
Don't anybody yell at me for this but here goes. I get my oil changed at one of those 10 minute oil change places.(takes about 60 minutes) and I had them replace my wipers blades they have a life time guarantee, I get my oil changed every 3k and the blades get changed also. I know that not right but I bought a lifetime battery from JC Penney's and then they got out of the business so whose lifetime were they talking about anyway. Point is get them and if they start streaking or something change them out.
I have Trico teflon blades on my F-150. I have had them over 1 year now and they sit outside in the sun and still work fairly well. I think it's about time to get re-fills but a year is a LONG time for me to have wipers on a vehicle! They cost me a bunch at first but opn my wife's car I change them about every 3 months and about the same on my car. I think next time I get blades for any vehicle I'll get the teflon ones.
