hi i'm thinking of buying a 1960 ford f-100 costome he has swaped the old motor for a 302 and it needs a new wiring harnes for the motr where if any were could i get one???
It depends if it's carburated or fuel injected. If it's carburated you could do it youself. There's probally someone here that can help you with that and for fuel injection.
You'll get a lot of different answers here, depending on how original you want to keep your truck or how much you're willing to spend. You could learn a lot about what has been said in the past on this topic by using the search feature.
I have a daily driver that I recently rewired with an EZ Wiring harness that only cost about $165 including shipping. It is an all-purpose kit with 12 fuses and the necessary relays for headlights, horn, etc. I was more than happy with the quality and ease of installation, although the directions are poor. If you're not confident about your electrical aptitude, you'll want to look into getting a wiring diagram. I made my own for everything except the turn signals as I took out the old wiring.
If you're looking for something more original or higher quality, the Painless Wiring harness will run about $350 or more ordered through your local Auto Zone (don't bother asking them for advice, though, I haven't found one around here who has even sold one) or you can check the old pickup magazines and catalogs. Dennis Carpenter has one that lots of guys here brag on, but I think it'll run you about $650 or so.
There are a lot of sharp guys here, they'll give you good advice, but be sure to search the archives for more.
I just bought an EZ wire kit for $165.00. Looks like a good harness and was recommended by the guys in the truck club i belong to. They said it was an easy install. I hope they are right. Instructions don't look to great.
