Engine Block Heater

Hello,
Noticed on the original window sticker of my 97 that my truck has an engine block heater. Just wondering where it is at? Have noticed an orange wire going to the oil filter area. Not needed in California, but provides for some good bench talk.

Thanks...

If it has never been used it may be tucked down in front of the engine below the driver's side battery. If not, check behind the front bumper on the driver's side.

Your block heater is down by the oil filter. Find the plug by following the wires.

??? You're not implying that it heats the oil, are you? It heats coolant.

No, I was just saying that's a good way to follow the power cable routing to the plug end since it was hard to find. Start at the heating element and follow the wire.
