I have read that there has been alot of issues with the 6.0L diesel and didn't really know what to think about it till tonight. I wanted to ask if anyone has had the same problem that I did.
I was exceleratiing onto an on ramp when I heard a big pop/bang. Sounded like my exhaust blew off, but I stopped the truck and found nothing wrong underneath. When I got back in to take off I had no exceleration and it felt like there was no compression on the engine. I have 4200 miles on the truck, does this sound like the same problem experienced on other trucks? Thanks in advance for your response.
Sounds like you might have blown off one of the turbo hoses. Check all the hoses that come out of the turbo. It goes from the turbo up to the front of the radiator (intercooler). Do a search for hose blown off. It's happened to some others. It is something you can fix yourself.
I have "poofed" mine off twice, no big deal, clean with brake kleen and re-install.
Once you clean with the brake kleen and TQ more than recomended ......it will not happen again.
