Replacing 86 AOD

I need some input on swapping out my AOD with one from an 87. Are there any tricks to this or is it all just labor. I love how my Haynes takes about a column and a half to explain how to do it and the kicker is: "Installation is the reverse of removal". Is the gearing inside an AOD universal(kinda) or are there gearing issues between rear-ends. My rear is 9" with 4.11. The 87 is 8.8 with 3.4? Or does the rear-end have anything to do it? I just don't want to get into something that I can't get out of. On a side note, once I get these swapped(if) how difficult is it to rebuild the original? Special skills,tools,parts etc... Thanks

its a strait swap. nothing to change or worry bout rear gearing. get a friend to help and a nice high lift floor jack this will help remove and lower/raise the tranny in place.
