A4WD problems
i have a 97 expy with the selection of 2wd-a4wd-4h-4l when i put it in the a4wd the light on the dash just flashes and thats it nothing else. the 4h and 4l does work when i put it in that position. anything will help!!!!!!! thanks

Join the flashing A4WD light club!!!!!! Mine does the same exact thing. I have heard everything from a bad hall effect sensor to a reflash on the 4x4 system. Either way, the only to get it fixed is to bring it to a dealer and have them put it on thier computer and tell you whats wrong with it. This system cannot be accessed through the OBDII port and it can only be accessed by a ford dealer. It will cost you about $75 just to put it on the computer then parts and labor to repair the problem. Mine has done this for 3 yrs now and I really don't see the need for A4WD. If I need 4WD I just put it in 4HI. I looked around for a fix for over 6 months and came up short. Good luck.... if you do go to the dealer let me know how you make out!

negatory!!!!!! no dealer visits in the future for me!!!!!!! i can live with a flashing light for a very long time. thats what i have been doing is just put it in 4h if the roads are starting to get bad. thanks for your input much appriciated!!! john
