Audiophile Yes or No ?
Just wondering for all those ppl out there who have heard the new 2004 for audiophile system, is it worth the buy. I am ordering my 04 ford soon and am wondering is it worth it. I love music and like it loud, i love bass also. So just wondering how the sub sounds in the truck does the bass bottom out lots or... Also is it possible to keep the mid and high end and just replace the sub with a custom setup and amp.

I have owned a 95 explorer with audiophile system (for which i replaced the sub/amp); just got an 04 explorer without. I have listened to the 04 audiophile system as well. It has its pros and cons, if you get the audiophile system, you ABSOLUTELY MUST replace the sub with an aftermarket amp/sub, that is if you like a nice solid low end to your music. Good news is THAT'S ALL you need to do to have a rockin' boomin' system, and wiring's relatively easy since it's pre-wired, audiophile mids/highs are adequate. I went with the basic stereo this time, with plans of ripping it all out and starting from scratch, since for about the same overall cost I figure I'll have nicer sound. I will also be installing it all myself.
