I've got a 97 F150 5.4 reporting a code P0133, which is O2 sensor ckt slow response, bank 1, sensor 1. Can anyone tell me which sensor is bank 1 sensor 1? Is it in a location I can reach and replace myself?
Hey Jasmo.
Bank 1 is on the passanger side of the truck, Bank 2 is on the drivers side of the truck. Sensors #1 are closest to the exhaust manifolds on both sides. Sensors #2 are after the converters. Sensors # 1 are called upstream sensors. Sensors #2 are downstream sensors. Hope this helps.
Thanks for identifying the right sensor. It figures it would be the hardest one to replace. There went most of my Saturday afternoon trying to get tools into tight places. I could get at the wiring connector through the wheel well, after disconnecting the transmission dipstick guide from the engine to free up some finger room, but I finally had to disconnect the converter heat shield and move it out of the way to get a wrench on the sensor itself. Job done, for 1/3 the cost that my Ford dealer wanted just to read the codes (thank you Autozone).
i just redid my clutch and took the fenderwells out, I found this makes getting to the o2 sensors and pretty much everything else I couldnt reach from under the truck
