I'm looking at a new Ford 350 Diesel dually 4x4 to replace my old similar truck. It will tow a 13,000lb Alpenlite fifth wheel and be general transportation in the NC mountains.
Our current truck, a 94 F350 Dually Diesel is a 5 speed manual with a 4:10 rear. The new one we're looking at has a 3:70 rear and auto trans with the new Powerstroke Diesel.
Is this adequate for our needs or do we need the 4:10? I'm told we will notice little difference with the automatic and should not worry about the 3:70.
Would love to hear your experience with this. Thanks.
