Question Tan Leather Maintenance

Does anyone have tips of how to keep the tan leather looking good? It looks on the white side, and was wondering if anyone had input...

Thanks,

normal cleaning and maintence will be good for it, i use a good cleaner and hide food, the stuff they sell at bentley dealerships works good. new dark jeans etc. will rub off on the leather, beware.

Lexol leather conditioner and cleaner works well. Also I have used baby wipes to clean leather.

Baby wipes are so awesome for stains they're scary. I also had a Ford mechanic get oil or grease on my headliner and sunvisor. The baby wipe took it off easily.

I have the samne leather, and was wondering if there is anything that will clean black pen off it? I do estimating all day, and sometimes forget to unclick the pen when I'm getting samples out of my truck.

Rambunctious, Do you mean Ivory soap liquid, or Ivory soap bar?

hair spray will get ink off but it will take some color off too. ive also heard about using pledge for furniture thats less damaging than the hairspray.

Mr Clean Magic Eraser works great for cleaning leather seats, especially those blue stains from jeans. I usually use Armor All Leather Wipes after using the Magic Eraser.

Ivory soap bar is "99.4% pure". i assume the softsoap will work too but don't know for sure.

the key to ivory soap is it is made from animal fats (those same things that condition animal leather) that is why it works.

i have cloth myself so can't validate. but my coworker uses it on his leather seats and swears by it and understands why it works.

hope this helps.

Once a year or so I use Tuff Stuff and a nail brush to scrub my interior clean. Amazing how much comes off since I frequently "mildly" clean the interior. I always give the leather an extra deep soaking of Lexol after this since I think it probably can dry out the leather. Been doing this for a dozen years or so and no complaints. I think that the key is to use a brush since wiping with cleaner doesn't seem to get it as clean.

I noticed the blue coming off pretty soon after I got mine. The newer the jeans the worse it seems to be.

It sounds like stone washed jeans are the way to go!
