Does anyone have a Xenon kit installed on their X. I am looking into possibly upgrading to a full Dual Beam Xenon kit. I know there are a couple of companies that make them but I don't know how well they are. Otherwise, does anyone have brighter headlights that are white in color? I don't want to run both the beams at the same time because I don't want to prematurly burn the bulb or housing.
Bryan,
I switched out the OEM bulbs for PIAA super whites and it made an illuminating difference! HA! Acually seems to almost double the illuminated distance and the field of vision is quite brighter.
Took about $20 and 15 minutes. Xenon conversions can be more than $400.
OK, you caught me. My wife always says I exaggerate too much. I actually don't remember how much I paid, but I remember it was WAAAYY less than the HID options I was looking at. After lifting the Toad I couldn't see the road anymore and I began seaching for solutions. I picked up the PIAAS bulbs at 4Wheel Parts at the same time as the PIAA driving lights you see on the pushbar on the front in my gallery. Only thing I remember is that they are the Superwhites. I still have the OEM's in the PIAA packaging at home and could look up the part # if neccessary, then go to 4Wheel website and look up price. Sorry for the duplicitous information
Hey, all of us have been guilty of a little exageration now and then . I just wanted to make sure I wasnt overpaying for those puppies. I think the Ex takes the 9007. I am going to run out at lunch and price them.
They didn't offer foglights in 2000, that's why I put on the PIAA 520's. Also, it was the first run in 2k and I think they might have had a little pride so maybe they deburred the sheetmetal edges. Passenger side took 10 min and driver 5 because I moved the air intake stuff. Either that or like usual I did cut myself up and just didn't notice. Don't remember my wife yelling at me to stop dripping blood in the kitchen, though.
LOL -
have the same piaa 520's... they do put out some lite !
but mounted on the bull bar - one of them started 'turning" a bit and I can't see in the mounting hole to tell what size nut driver/ ratchet I need !!! so I just turn it back straight every couple of days !
I HATED that! And I mounted them myself
I ended up taking the whole thing apart and made an angle bar stiffener to minimize vibration and bolted it back together with stainless hardware and aircraft nuts.
So the Piaa superwhites are the way to go for priceworthiness? You said that you can get the part number for the X. Can you post that please? Thanks again. Bryan

Bryan,
I won't be able to look at the # 'til next week. Leaving out of town right after work today. Who isn't, eh?
Couple of the guys noted part numbers up above. If they're right, I found the PIAA Superwhite 9007 series 55/60w = 110w (PIAA19607) for $79.18 a set.
Yep - just the 9007 equivalents and they pop right in...
