did i mess up bad?
I'm swapping out engines and acciedently left a bolt in my bell houseing case and the top broke off. Its a 79 F100 Ranger XLT 4x4. I think it will work as long as i keep mud and all that out of it. I could be wrong though but hope not.

I had a truck where someone had done that, never really noticed any problems with it. An easy fix would be clean up the area around the break, and jb weld it back together. Put the stuff in the seam, then mabye some to cover any gaps, should make it nice and strong again, that stuff is as strong as steel, and works well on aluminum. Best thing is jb weld is just a couple bucks at local auto parts store, or wal-mart.
