I would like to convert my '64 F250 to a HEI system. Can anyone please tell me which system works best for this old trucks' 292 Y block? I read some where the Pertronics system had problems if the voltage dropped below a certain level. My truck is still 100% stock If that makes any difference. Thanks in advance for your responce.

Their are several ways to do this.
1, You can put a msd or mallory or cd type box and run it off your points. I havent tryed this my self
2, you can get a electronic covershion. pertronix didn't last to long for me. mallory makes one that is what I am running now works well. And I think crain makes one as well.
3, or you can buy a msd dissy, witch I had just bought I will let you know how it works when I install it. Mallory also makes one that looks good.
I am sure that their are more ways to do this.

57_Ford Thanks for the help. I appreciate you taking the time to help me out. I'm going to check out the Mallory set up.

I have used the Mallory kit for 7 years, and have had absolutely no problems with it. One of the best mods I have done so far to the motor. I hate points.
