I was just towing a 28' camping trailer the other day while towing started noticing a whine that changed with the engine speed.I now have a high pitched whine when starting engine and at 2500 rpm in park definetly coming from trans area. Any else run into this problem or suggest after market torque conveter thanks for all help
I don't know the year of your truck but had to replace my 1999 (8/98) torque converter with a new one due to a klanging noise, it was caused by the lock up piston excessive wear I elected to replace with a ford updated model due to timing, but banks makes a billit one that has been rated high. There was a TSB on my converter that I was not aware of while it was under warrenty.

Crap. My truck makes that rattling noise too. Will this eventually do in my tranny? I've already priced replacing the TC at the stealership ($1100). How is the updated version working for you? You still have the part # (in case they try something funny)
Anyone's help is appreciated b4 I spend that grand plus.
