Up until last night my Bronco, 93 5.0L, would start instantly. Last night I noticed 3-4 cranks and then VRROOM. As was this morning but I drove it in anyways. Before I drove it today I checked my posts, terminal, wires, cap, all looked fine with very little corrosion. The voltmeter range has not changed ever. Well on my way to work today after stopping at the store I go to start and its dead. I swap a new battery in the parking lot and it won't start. I shake some wires and then VRROOM. I get to work. Shut down and try to start and its dead. Again voltage has been constant the whole time. No red fault lights on dash either. Q#1. If it was the alternator wouldn't I have lost voltage on the volt meter? Q#2. A bad starter relay? Intermittent? Is the relay the 2 post canister on the top of the fender on passenger side wired right from the battery? Q#3. A bad short I can't find? I don't have my Haynes manual here at work and I need to get this thing running because I am working ungodly hours this week and get off at 3 AM when there is nothing opened. I can look at it during my dinner break and have tools here. Sorry about the lengthy post. THANKS! P.S. All accesories work fine, headlights bright, radio, ect.

I bought a LLT starter from the Zone about 10 years ago and replace it every year or year and a half. If you said that you wiggled wires and it started, where were the wires that you wiggled ? If they were on the driver side wheel well area, check the EEC Power Relay and the Fuel Pump Relay AND the wiring that goes to it.
If you hit the starter and it started means theres either a bad spot on the bendix or the starter its self. Usually its the starter drive ( bendix) thats the problem. You can replace them for under 20.00 and they really arent hard to replace. Beware of buying from advance auto parts. I replaced 2 starter drives from advance and they lasted about a month and I had to replace it again. I went to Napa and got one and havent had a problem since and that was over a year ago.If you dicide its the bendix and you need help replacing it just email and I'll be glad to help you.Good luck
