Hey all. I was thinking that somewhere down the line (in a few years or more) I may want to get a little more performance out of my '60 F100. I was also thinking that it would be really cool to do that without removing the original 223. I was wondering ... with performance intakes (someone is selling a dual-carb Offenhauser on eBay, just a thought), exhaust headers and what-have-you, how much horsepower do you think you could get out of a 223 without spending a fortune?

I used a clifford intake from ebay, to put a 300cfm holley two barrel on my 223. I got a set of tube headers from Sacramento Vintage Ford. Pertonix coil and conversion on the distributer. The block was bored .80 over and I put a mild cam in it. It does alright for itself. If you want to stay on the low price end watch ebay, go to the swapmeet and ask around. It is fun to have a unique engine in the truck.
