I just bought a 91 f150 with an I6 engine my oil pressure stays just below the n on normal is this something to be worried about I dont here any knocks or see any smoke is there any way to bring it up a little without any major work the truck only has 88000 original miles with good maint records.
The oil pressure gage in newer F series trucks does not really indicate pressure. The gage is really just actuated by a pressure switch and is basically an idiot light that does not illuminate. You would have to hook up an actual pressure gage if you wanted to read real oil pressure.

That's what I did. Definatly more accurate. The lowest mine gets is 35-40 psi. It's usually around 70. I am running a built 351W.
Maybe Ill just hope thats it and keep driving it thanks
This is not a good idea.....
Get a real oil pressure gauge and hook it up, it'll have instructions on how. The oil pressure should be 40-60psi while idling and the engine being warm. There could be a problem with your oil pump or engine bearings...better to be safe then loose an engine
