Delayed gauges

Hi, the prob I have is when I start up. Its every time. I've checked the conns and fuses, but still it persists. Any ideas out there. Thanks

It sounds like its time to replace your battery. I had the same thing happen several months ago. I posted on here and PaulC confirmed right away that it was the battery. It was the fix, thanks again PaulC. My gauges actually did a sweeping motion before settling on the correct readings. I have also seen posts of gauges pegging themselves also (again battery). Good luck.

The battery was weak on my 99 and caused the guages to do the same thing. They hesitate for a second then jump to normal. Have the battery checked.

delayed oil pressure gauge

Hi,
I've had this problem with only the one gauge. I wonder if the oil pressure sending you unit is beginning to fail. Any ideas?

You can't just immediatly start your engine and have oil pressure...

I agree with bad battery, my truck did that a couple of times before the battery finally died.

If only on one gauge, check the sensor for that unit before suspecting the gauge itself.
