97 Expy radio problems

97 Expy radio problems
My radio cuts out for a few seconds every once and while and then comes back on, it also does this when a tape is playing. Also the FM works fine but the AM has a loud buzzing noise coming from it making it impossible to listen to. Any tips on a remedy or how to remove radio? Thanks

I'm assuming this is a factory unit? Do you see two holes on each side of the radio? There are clips inside of those. You can either use a special "U" shaped wire/tool, or you can bend a stiff hanger into a U shape and stick in those holes. Once you have the clips inside them pushed, you should be able to pull the radio out. As for the buzz, it sounds like a bad ground. Does it increase when you step on the accelerator? If so, I'd check your grounds. And then the cutting out sounds like loose speaker wires or something. Or does it completely lose power?
