can anybody tell me what kind of fuel economy to expect on my 76 f250 with a stock 2bbl 390 auto if i put a parttime kit in the transfercase lockout hubs. and does anybody have anyother tips to improve my fuel economy besides tieing baloons to my foot.

Well...lets start with what you are getting now? (10-12???) You might improve by 2 mpg...if you keep your foot out of it. As a 390FE owner...from experience the FE's do not give great mpg, but they do give great torque. I prefer the torque!...and live with the mpg.
well when i beat on it i ussually get around 4 mpg but i made one 4 hour trip
and got around 11
would a 4bbl carb help if i stay out of the secondaries?
i'd love to get 15-17 mpg

I can't say how much a 4V carburetor will help an FE, but it did help a 302 I had in a 72 Torino a lot with a 273:1 rear gear. The 302 with a 2V carburetor got around 18-22mpg on the highway depending on traffic. I installed a 4v Holley carburetor, edelbrock intake manifold and headers. The mpg went to (believe it or not) 24-26 mpg on the highway! The mpg went down to nothing if I used the full capability of the 4V carburetor.
I would say a 4V would help your mpg some, but not sure how much.

If you were to do all that...you would probably see the increase that you want. Of course that is if you have the timing dead on! What this package does is allow the 390FE to breath better...which results in better burn and better removal of the burnt gases.
