What is it.....
and what does it do???? My 02 psd developed a problem last night. I've traced it to a square black box about 2 1/2in big that has a wiring harness plugged into it and it it under the dash mounted on a dash brace just to the left and below of the radio. You can see it if you take the dash fuse panel off. It is to the right of it and you can see it through the opening of the dash brace.
Now for the problem..it makes an annoying sound like a "bug sapper" frying bugs but just pretty much continuous. The only thing that will stop it is to just slighty push on the brake pedal..just enough to light the brake lights. Also if you use the turn signal. it will quit for that time but after that, it's back to making this noise. If I have described this box to you and you know what it is for or what it does. I'd like to know. If I put my hand on this box, you can feel it sapping or for another word, "viberating"
Anyone had somthing like this and I wonder if I get a new box and plugged it in, will this fix the problem? Hate to go to the stealership just to have them give me a bill and tell me all it takes is a new box and plug it in...probably a $100 or so, if ytou know what I mean. Thanks
