CR isn't biassed.... they factor in cost as a big issue, much bigger than actual quality of the tools. They also didn't test longevity of the tool, impact resistance, or actual torque output of the tool.

If you'll ever study/compare CR's reports over the long term, 12 to 24 months, you'll see they tend to leave out various brands in test after test. (I don't mean just reading the reports, but study and compare the actual reports ). Then they'll include certain brands in an almost unfailing attempt to make certain particular brands appear and rank very well in many tests.
And No, it isn't just because certain items are good. It's because of biased 'reporting'.
Many people don't read the whole reports, they only look at the charts/lists, and make decisions on slanted up results.
If you don't want to call it biased, how about slanted, or inaccurate, or wrong, take your pick.
Just because they say they don't take 'outside' money, you believe them?
I have the new Ridged brand cordless 12v drill and have been pleased with the power and toughness. The reason I bought it was because of an introductory offer, at the time, of being guaranteed for life, all parts 'including batteries'. This statement was verified at their website, as well as at home depot. I'm sure we’ll see if they really meant it when they wear out.
I have 3 PorterCables and 1 DeWalt. I've had them 4 or 5 years now, and like the PC's best. They are better 'balanced' and the batteries seem to last longer then the DeWalt.
I had a Sears (made by Ryobi) years ago, and it was a toy compaired to these.
I had a PC 12 volt and didn't like it because the chuck was a piece of crap. It kept coming loose when taking screws out. Got a 3 speed 12 volt DeWalt XRP with ratcheting chuck. Now that's a machine!
