Keg tank

I was wondering if any of you have done a beer keg gas tank? I wanted to know if anybody had some ins or outs of the job. I would appreciate any advice or help. Thanks in advance.

The only vehicles I've seen use the beer keg gas tank are T-buckets and it's questionable as to how well they look even on them. Unless you plan to run a bed cover to hide it, I don't think I would do that...just my opinion, but it's your truck to do with as you like.

Well I have seen this in some other trucks around the same years. I just havent seen any upclose. The main idea is to get the gas tank out of the cab.My truck is still carburated so I dont think there will be much of a difference than from the stock gas tank. I do plan on covering the bed as the truck will have air suspension and will need to have the compressor and mini keg (air tank) in the bed. Also I am planning on running a holley electric fuel pump when I install the tank.

My Dad uses a keg for his gas tank in his old jeep. It works fine and looks ok but takes up too much room. The cops love making comments about it too. You wont have a fuel guage if you use the keg. He bought a flip-top gas cap and cut a hole in the keg and used some silicone and screws to bolt it down, then made the fuel line come out the bottom. Like I said, it works fine, just not what I would do to my truck. Good luck.

If you just want to get the tank out of the cab I think there are better options. Look at John Niolon's tech article on installing a Mustang gas tank under the bed. I think that would be a more preferable option...

I originally thought about putting the tank under the bed, but then decided that I wouldnt because I wanted to keep the spare tire holder. Then I sold the tire holder too because I am drastically going to lower the truck. I figured that I would use something that has worked before and not one of those plastic tanks that fold over in the middle. As it is the bed will be filled with a compressor, valves, tank and lines, plus the bed will have to be raised a few inches so I dont have to cut the center of the bed when the truck is lowered. It has been a daily driver for me but now its time to make it a street rod driver. Thanks for all the info however as it is always welcome.

Add about 12 kegs and make it look like a beer truck.
