E4OD, Navistar, 385 & M series

I'm looking for an E4OD for my 400 gas. I know, I know, this is a diesel forum, but... I was told that an E4OD from a Navistar diesel 6.9 or 7.3 would have the same bellhousing as my gas job.
True?
Any help would be much appreciated.

It sounds like it should work, but I am skeptical as I have heard that the manual trannys for the 460 and diesels have a different bolt pattern at the bellhousing.
