VSS plug on axle???

Has anyone here unplugged this, I mean is it completely necessary? I remember on some of my old cars I was told all the emission stuff was esential, which of course let me remove it, and I think I gained some performance...I realize these are 2 differant things, but you see my point.
Anyway the reason for this is that it's much easier ans CHEAPER to get a Dana 60 or 70 then a newer Sterling 10.25 or 10.5, and the parts are cheaper too. I'm also not overly concerned with the ABS.
Long story short, do I NEED VSS?

if you unplugged the VSS, it MAY cause your abs light come on. Or engine light. That would be my only thoughts on it.

If I understand you right you want to remove the speed sensor completely. Well no speedometer, messed up tranny, odometer

That’s if I read it right..
