I have a 99 f350 4 x4 psd. Both front and back rotors need to be changed. I have never done that before. Is it very difficult? Where can I get good instructions? Im not to worried about the back ones its the front hubs that scare me. Im afraid of taking the locking hubs off and not able to put them back in the right order. Any help would be appreciated.
i would think the '99 is the same as my '01 and the front rotors are "floating rotors"(not atched to the hub). you just take the lugs off, take off the wheel and the rotor slides off of the studs(after you remove the caliper and the caliper mount, 4 bolts). just be careful when you put the calipers back on because the bolts that hold the caliper to the mount are keyed and have to go back on a certain way(look close at them before you take them off)
Do the locking hubs stay on? I noticed there was a retainer clip that was holding the hubs in place. I think the hubs need to come off before you can take the rotor off.

they did not have to come off when i did mine, like i said i dont know for sure if the '99 is the same as my '01(i also have that retaining clip). i have had an ongoing brake problem for the past 2 years so i have had them off a number of times. i was suprised that they were not attached to the hub, unlike my '95 bronco witch you had remove the whole hub
heck just jack it up and take the wheel off, if the rotor is not attached to the hub you will be able to move it back and forth a little, and you will be able to see if it is attached or not
