Check out the user galleries on this forum, you'll get to take a look at some of the mods we've all done.

Yeah, I'm one of those "I can't help myself" types.

93 F350 crewcab, PS/PB and thats it as far as options.

It now has a digital cluster, and it looks like it belongs there (unless you lie on the floorboards and look up, then its kinda "hackish".

I installed a chrysler minivan overhead console, and rewired it so it would work with the ford door pin switches. Now I have map lights for the front passengers as well as the back passengers, and a nifty digital compass so I know I'm lost, as well as two temperature sensors, one inside and one outside with a switch I added to flip between in/out temps.

I added a diamond plate aluminum toolbox across the width of the bed, though its already full of junk sad to say.

Since my tailgate is completely shot, and I wanted an airgate anyway, I decided to make one. Two bearclaw latches and a steel frame is really all an airgate is, so I have the latches in a box, and already cut up the rectangular steel tubing, but I haven't gotten around to welding it.

I'm upgrading the 351W sometime this summer. The twin turbo 500cid is coming along nicely. Motor's almost done, and tomorrow and part of this weekend i'll be mocking up the exhaust manifolds. I made one exhaust runner, threaded both ends and capped them, inserting NPT fittings on one cap, and pressurized it to see if my welding is as bad as I think it is. The runner's been sitting for 4 hours and hasn't lost any pressure so far, cool.

Also built an engine stand to test the motor before it goes into the truck

Installed cab roof lights and wired it to switches I added to the chrysler overhead consoel.

I rewired most of the underside of the truck, though thats not customizing, thats keeping it running

I replaced both tanks... so now I have 33 gallons in the back and upper 20's gallons on the front tank, and the spare tire I just leave at home since the back tank takes some of the spare tire space.

I have no intention on lifting it, or lowering it, the only thing I will be doing is installing new but boring steel wheels, same size on the fronts (16x7) but the rears will have matching new but boring steel wheels, 16x10. WIth the new motor I'll definately need wider tires.

If the sterling rear doesn't like the new engine, I have a dana 80 in storage. I hope it doesn't come to that, its a big job swapping a rear on a 1-ton crewcab in your driveway. But if I must, I shall.

I'll be replacing the factory original red vinyl floor with carpet once I find a company that makes carpeting that I like.

Eventually i'll have the air horns in, the second alternator and second battery, and I will be adding AC once the new motor goes in. I already cut out the bracket with my sabre saw. Yes, thats the hard way, but it works.

FREDERIC, i just saw your pics of your digital dash. WOW! well, i was excited to be getting my white faced gauges back from the shop. you didn't go into detail on wiring it up. was that hard? those gauges are very nice. my FIL has a late model T-bird, maybe he'll let me borrow it someday. hehehehe.

I haven't done nearly as much to my '92 F350 CrewCab 4x4 as Frederic has (nice work too!). That turbo motor aughtta be quite an experience to drive!

Here's mine:
The most significant one was changing out the pathetic 3.55 gears for 4.56's (big difference in power and increased mileage too ), and put a Powertrax LockRight differential in the rear axle (Love it off road ). Also have 16.5x10 alloy wheels that look similar to the factory optional wheels for that year and 33x12.50 BFG AllTerrain T/A KO's (great off road and on). No lift or suspension mods besides shocks.

The truck started like Frederic's with only the most basic stuff: C6 auto trans, 351, ps/pb, vynal seats, no A/C, no tow pkg, grey bumpers and grille. It did have Rhino liner though .

It now has chrome bumpers and grille, cloth seats, carpet, headliner, factory AC, a 14K reciever hitch and 4-, 6- and 7-pin tow wiring, frame-mount camper tiedowns, rear bumper reinforcement, front bedwall reinforcement, swing out camper mirrors, dual battery mount, Optima battery, tailgate lock, crossbed toolbox, lots of tiedown eye hooks in the bed for tying off dirtbikes, etc., Alpine stereo w/ two 8" subs, seatcovers, LED tailights and 50watt backup bulbs, aux backup floods mounted under the rear bumper, huge 'dually' mudflaps, Bilstein front shocks/Rancho 9000X rear shocks, and Heckethorn steering stabilizer shock.

Some of the mods were homemade stuff I welded up with the MIG machine, since I kinda have a thing against buying stuff if I can make it myself for less money. Other stuff I just bit it and paid the money. Someday I'll get a descent digicam and take pics...

Next things I want to do to it are: finish my front bumper reinforcement/front reciever hitch, finish my dual battery/camper wiring, make some step bars for the cab and bed, get some kind of larger front side gas tank that doesnt cost an arm and a leg, mount the spare under the bed, tint the windows and put a slider in the rear, buy or make some kind of center floor console that locks and has 2 cupholders, put an alarm on it and some rear dually clearance lights, put on some cheap rubber fender flares (Pacer Flexy Flares ?), find a factory instrument cluster with tach, put a shift kit and modulator in the trans, a temp gauge and an extra-capacity pan, modify the factory engine oil pressure gauge so it actually shows oil pressure, and do a cat-back exhaust with a hi-flow cat.

Mods for the distant future: A GearVendors Overdrive, rebuild the C6 with the low first and second gear ratio, convert to mass air and port the heads, new manifold, cam/lifters, headers, and who knows, maybe stroke the crank, put in power windows & door locks and cruise control....

...then about the time I have it just the way I want it and have about 3 times more money into it than it's worth, trade it in for a new F550 CrewCab 4x4 with a Powerstroke diesel and Torqshift automatic with utility bed and a new self contained overcab camper to slide in the back of it! Ha Ha ...Nah, I love my truck, I would use the F550 as a permanent camper hauler and use the F350 on special ocassions.
