93 explorer radio installation

i just bought a pioneer head unit to put in my explorer. I have heard that i need to bypass the factory amp in my explorer for it to work properly. I dont have a factory sub and i dont think its a premium sound package. Another problem with the stock system is a popping in the speakers when turning the oem radio up. I need some help...

factory amp should be in the cargo area on the passanger side behind the panel...major pain in the *** to get to i hate to say
