lower ball joint spins
i just pressed out my two lower/upper ball joints and put new ones in im putting the housing back on my truck the lower ball joints are spinnning before it gets tight.... i cant think of any way of holding the bolt to get the ball joint to not spin when i tighten it without damaging the rubber seal... trucks apart in the garage and its my only ride!!! help me!!

Use a big c clamp to put pressure on the area surrounding the joint into the hole the shaft goes into. The shaft of the ball joint is tapered and this will give you the resistance you need to tighten. It shouldn't take much to do it.

I just went through that as well -- what I did was take one of the cups from the ball joint press (the one that fits over the ball joint so it won't touch it) and use it on top of a jack. Put the cup aroudn the bottom of the new joint on the truck and use the jack to just put enough pressure on the knuckle so it is tight -- then you'll be able to tighten it right down.
