I have a 99.5 F250PSD w/a Banks Bighead and 4" exhaust. My son has a 1999 F250PSD w/o those items. His truck is much quieter than mine, is this because of the Banks or do I maybe have an exhaust leak. The Banks was on the truck when I bought it so I cannot compare. His 99 is the earlier model.
Seems normal to me.... your exhaust will account for a louder, deeper tone. I've read that the Banks system should just be throatier than stock, but not too loud.... that is unless it's straightpiped I would think. Did you buy the truck like that or did you install the system yourself?
I bought the truck with the Banks already installed. Maybe I should find someone locally that could tell me what I have. I am slowly learning about diesels. However you are listening to a man whos first car was a 1937 Buick.
FBINA,
You certainly found the best place to learn about your diesel!
Cat,
I tried sending you an email about two weeks ago, you may not have gotten it. I'm moving to Pa this weekend. Be living at my parents place in Spring City. We'll have to meet up sometime!
