I have dial up and am as happy with it as need be. My ISP offers what they call Velocidial, which speeds up loading of web pages 5 to 6 times faster than standard dial up. I don't download music and the infrequent download or upgrade I do isn't really that much of an issue. I'm not in that big of a hurry to move around on the net that fast, so it's really not worthwhile to have cable or DSL.
I dont think I could give up the internet,I have talked to people from all over the world and have learned some real interesting stuff,plus the amount of info that you can get on just about anything is just too cool.And besides,no internet would mean no FTE,and I gota have my daily dose of FTE or I flop around like a fish out of water!
We have cable but half the time I'm waiting forever for a page to start to load and it's worse than the 28.8 dialup. Once it starts it's fast at least.
